Terms & Conditions

General

1. There are three (3) travel passes available to all U Mobile Prepaid plan subscribers, namely the 7-Day Travel Pass (Malaysia), 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country), and 30-Day Travel Pass (MY & SG) (collectively, the "Travel Passes" and individually a "Travel Pass"). The following table sets out the details of the Travel Passes:

2. The 7-Day Travel Pass (Malaysia) is valid for use in Malaysia, the 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country) can be utilised in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the 30-Day Travel Pass (MY & SG) can be utilised in Malaysia and Singapore throughout the respective validity period.
   
   
3. The Travel Passes are available to Malaysians and non-Malaysians.
   
   
4. The Travel Passes cannot be transferred to any other mobile number.
   
   
5. Each Travel Pass is subject to the respective U Mobile Prepaid Plans Terms and Conditions. You must comply with the respective U Mobile Prepaid Plans Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Notice, and the terms and conditions in this Travel Passes Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Terms”), all of which are available on www.u.com.my.
   
   
6. We reserve the right to discontinue offering the Travel Passes, modify, or otherwise change these Terms including the charges.
   
   
7. The Travel Passes cannot be combined with any other offers unless expressly stated.
   
   
8. We reserve the rights at any time without being liable to you or any third party to interrupt, bar, suspend, restrict the Travel Passes and services for such time as we see fit or terminate, discontinue, or disconnect the Travel Passes and services if your usage:
   
   
   1. shows excessive usage or placing unusual burdens on the network;
      
      
   2. is for unlawful activities or for suspected fraudulent activities;
      
      
   3. is not in accordance with the U Mobile Fair Usage Policy (FUP);
      
      
   4. is for commercial/non-personal purposes; and/or
      
      
   5. is in breach of any of the Terms.
      
      
   Any unused data will be forfeited upon suspension or termination.
   

Activation and Charges

1. You may activate each Travel Pass on your mobile device:
   
   
   1. via MyUMobile App’s Add-ons section; or
      
      
   2. by dialling *118#.
      
      
   3. via U Mobile Online Store
       
2. Before you activate or renew your Travel Pass subscription, you must have the following minimum credit balance for the respective Travel Pass:

4. Upon successful subscription, no refunds or request for credit reversal will be entertained.
   
   
5. You must ensure that you have sufficient credit before you purchase the Travel Pass whether you are in or outside Malaysia. For instance, if you want to purchase the 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country) outside Malaysia but you do not have the minimum of RM35 credit available, you will not be able to purchase the Travel Pass.
   
   
6. You are advised to top up before you travel. However, you can still perform top up with your top up voucher even when you are roaming. You may also use U Mobile’s online banking channels to top up while travelling.
   
   
7. The validity period of the 7-Day Travel Pass (Malaysia) is 7 days from activation and the validity period of the 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country) is 14 days from activation. On its expiry, your subscription will not be automatically renewed. The validity period of the 30-Day Travel Pass (MY & SG) is 30 days from activation, your subscription will be automatically renewed if you have sufficient of credit balance.
   
   
8. You may activate as many Travel Passes as you like.
   
   
9. Any unused data will be forfeited upon Travel Pass’ expiration. Subsequent data usage will be charged according to the relevant prepaid rate plans.

Data Service

1. By subscribing to the 7-Day Travel Pass (Malaysia), 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country), and 30-Day Travel Pass (MY & SG), you will enjoy unlimited data usage with Internet speed up to 6Mbps.
   
   
2. All data usage on the Travel Passes are subject to Fair Usage Policy (FUP) as set out below:

Upon reaching the FUP limit, the speed will be reduced to 512 Kbps. There is no browsing quota limit at this reduced speed.
 

3. Peer-to-peer (P2P) usage is up to 64kbps.
   
   
4. You can use the Travel Passes via smartphones only and other devices such as MiFi and USB dongles are not allowed. U Mobile reserves the right to modify the device requirements for the Travel Passes at its discretion.
   
   
5. The data service provides access to the internet and related services via our 4G or 5G services only and is only available to customers within our 4G or 5G services coverage area. You cannot use our service to connect to the internet outside of our 4G or 5G services coverage area.
   
   
6. The data service is subject to network limitations and availability and device capability. Your actual download speed and data capacity may vary and may be slower and will be affected by but not limited to, your distance from our mobile tower, the capacity of our mobile tower, the source of your download, your handset type and quality, the general internet traffic and coverage availability.

Data Plans and Add-Ons

1. You may purchase the Data Plans and add-ons (“Add-ons”) offered by U Mobile for your Travel Passes and they can be used in Malaysia only.  
   
   

2. If you subscribe to the 14-Day Travel Pass (Multi-Country) or 30-Day Travel Pass (MY & SG), you may purchase the following Add-ons, which can be used in Malaysia and while roaming in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand:

3. All the Add-ons above are subject to U Mobile Fair Usage Policy (“FUP”).

    

4. All the Add-ons are strictly for personal usage only.

Roaming

1. In order to avoid being charged for roaming under U Data Roam (“UDR”), you must purchase the Travel Pass before you enable data roaming at your destination country.
   
   
2. In order to use the internet while roaming, you must manually connect to the following preferred roaming operator’s network and ensure your device remains connected to the preferred roaming operator’s network throughout your travel to the following countries:

3. If you do not connect to any preferred roaming operator’s network, you will not be able to use the internet while on roaming. However, you may still be able to use voice and SMS services, subject to your prepaid credit balance.

Voice Service
 

1. The voice service applies to domestic mobile, domestic fixed on-net and off-net usage and excludes video calls, MMS, International Direct Dial (IDD), International Roaming, Voicemail (1311) or calls to special numbers/premium numbers (e.g.: 1300 / 1500 / 1508 / 1600 / 1700 / 1900 / 103, 800 & 15999), 02-prefix numbers for border calls to Singapore and 080-prefix numbers for border calls to Brunei.
2. You must only use the voice service strictly as part of normal everyday mobile voice usage and not for commercial use. The Travel Pass shall not be:
   
   
   1. re-sold, rented, or utilised in any other way;
      
      
   2. used for multiple simultaneous calling, conference calling, re-supply, call centre usage, telemarketing, application-to-person communication, continuous calling for extended period of time, auto-dialling, machine-to-machine communication;
      
      
   3. used for wholesale or for SIM boxing or aggregate minutes on our network;
      
      
   4. used in connection with a device, software or application which re-routes calls;
      
      
   5. used to set up switch devices which could keep a line open potentially for hours and limiting the ability for other customers to access our network; or
      
      
   6. used for any other activity that U Mobile considers to be non-standard usage.
      
      
3. You will be charged for roaming calls made out of Malaysia. The charges are based on the countries and operators you have selected. For the complete list of charges, please refer to https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/mobile-plans/roaming-idd/roaming-rates.
